❦ experience magic of reading with the Printable Reading Journal

Imagine your bookshelf as a select wine collection. There's no rush to explore every title or taste each narrative. Each book, like a fine wine, waits for its perfect moment. It could be the right mood, the perfect company, or the ideal setting. Some books you might never get to, while others you might reread so many times that their covers get worn out. Authors embed deep emotions in their works, aiming to connect with readers precisely when it matters.

That serendipitous moment when you're inexplicably drawn to a book?
It's like two souls finding each other.

This is the philosophy I’ve imbued into this Printable Book Tracker. Embrace every book when the moment is right. Guided book review templates. Space to reflect on your emotional experience. Participate in fun reading challenges. Get inspiration & share on social!

how to make the best of it?

As with all of my products, this printable book log and journal is made to be used intuitively, without causing any additional pressure, and it is designed to help with emotional awareness.

I've never been a fan of harsh reading challenges or setting firm goals of reading an x amount of books, of course, unless it feels right and it brings joy and playfulness. There is enough tension in our ever-growing to-do-list both in our personal and professional lives. Reading is about sweet joy and escapism in fictional and factual worlds.

So, by all means, don't treat this journal as a chore. Let the flow guide you. We are all different. Some are naturally meticulous trackers and for them this is a joy, for others it's period or mood-dependant.

book logging

For some books or in some periods, you might want to write up whole essays and in-depth book analysis, for others, it might be just a few quotes or pieces of fan art. And that's okay. Some books might resonate on a deep emotional level, whilst others might just take you on a light and careless journey.

overviews

Again, go by your feelings, you can put as much detail as you need and don't blame yourself if you've read only 1 book, or half a book in a month. That's okay. What I find interesting in this section is the 'How do I feel in this period?" section, where you can see how your reading choices are affected by your needs and emotions.

challenges

Have fun here, honestly. If you feel particularly playful in a specific period or on a specific day, just go and see what bookish challenge fate has in store for you.

inspiration

When you feel inspired by a book, pop it in here, so you can always reference it back. Add in all-time favorites, classics, books that made you feel a certain way or quotes that inspire you.

I've also added a link to a Pinterest board that I will aim to update more regularly with different inspirational sources for books.
